The Book Nook’s ‘Summer Book Reading’ Shares New Stories and Free Books
Featured Readers Share Stories This Summer for Younger and Older Children
TULARE COUNTY, SUMMER 2023— Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) is thrilled to announce its Summer Book Reading program at The Book Nook, spotlighting local readers who are excited to read new stories to local children throughout Tulare County. Summer Book Reading days take place every Tuesday and Thursday through August 3rd: most Tuesday mornings* from 10:30-11:30am are dedicated to sharing stories for children between 4-8 years old, while Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm will focus on stories appropriate for children between 9-12 years old.
Summer Book Reading represents a shared effort between Family HealthCare Network, The Book Nook, and TCOE Readership, who will provide free books to children at the end of each reading session. Book talks will be included during and after each reading, to spark an even deeper level of interest in reading new titles.
Each Summer Book Reading event is free to attend for children throughout Tulare County and its surrounding communities. Families with interested children simply need to arrive at The Book Nook on the Tuesday or Thursday event appropriate for their child’s age and reading level.

*On Tuesday, July 4th, The Book Nook will be closed to celebrate Independence Day, and will not be hosting a Summer Book Reading event on the holiday.
