Family HealthCare Network and Burton School District Empowering Students to “Be Future Ready”
Annual Event Will Fortify Local Sophomores with Skills for Post-School Success
PORTERVILLE, CA FEBRUARY 15, 2023— Family HealthCare Network and Burton School District are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual “Be Future Ready” Conference, to help local sophomores gain skills they will need to succeed in the workforce after high school graduation. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at 9:00 am at the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE).
Local sophomores will spend their day gaining insight into the modern work world, learning key skills like resume building, financial literacy, and social media safety. Each student will also have a chance to enter raffles for prizes and will be given several free gifts—including one of 160 specialty t-shirts, sponsored by Family HealthCare Network (FHCN). Burton School District’s mission is to empower confident and successful students—whether they choose to attend college or enter the workforce after high school.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for FHCN to join Burton Schools in our shared commitment to the children of the communities we serve,” said Kerry Hydash, President & CEO of Family HealthCare Network. “We know that not every student wants to go to college, so we want to ensure that those students are prepared for any career path they choose.”
Nathan Wobrock, founder of Hoops Preschool in Porterville, is this year’s motivational speaker. He’s spent a majority of his professional career working with youth and their parents, and he wants to pass along his own experiences at a crucial time for students.
“Working with sophomores in high school is golden,” said Wobrock. “Seniors are ready to graduate, but to catch students before that point is crucial. I want them to know that no matter what route you take, owning that choice is just as important the choice itself.” Porterville Police Department and Valley Strong Bank represent some of the other featured presentation leaders and guest speakers at event.
Event Details: TCOE Redwood Conference Center, 6200 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia When: Wednesday, February 15, 9:00am
