Visalia, CA – On Monday, December 4th, Family HealthCare Network (FHCN) will donate holiday food baskets to 115 of its patients nominated by their staff. Nominated families have been informed and are from communities including Cutler-Orosi, Hanford, Porterville, Terra Bella, Tulare, Traver, Visalia, Goshen, and Woodlake. Staff and volunteers have been busy preparing the baskets to be given away as part of the organization’s Anita Fund, a tradition of FHCN for over 25 years. Through the Anita Fund, FHCN employees donate on a monthly basis from their personal paychecks to provide annual holiday gifts and food baskets to support patients in need.
Recipients of the gift and food baskets are patients of FHCN, nominated by medical providers and other staff of the Network. The gift baskets include fresh produce donated by the Community Food Bank of Central California. Family HealthCare Network also received support from the Walmart Distribution Center. FHCN staff donations from throughout the year also enable FHCN to provide fresh full chicken, blankets, and gifts for children in each family.
Community health representatives, along with community volunteers, began preparing the gift baskets at the organization’s corporate office in Visalia on Sunday, December 3rd. On Monday, FHCN staff members will also volunteer to distribute the baskets and dress up as Santa to offer children a special holiday experience. A family photo is also provided for each family to take home.
Distribution to families will occur on Monday, December 4th from 1pm-5pm at FHCN’s corporate office in Visalia (305 E. Center, Visalia, CA), the Resource Center in Porterville (323 W. Putnam Ave, Porterville, CA), at Self Help’s Villa de Guadalupe in Cutler-Orosi (12554 Avenue 408, Orosi, CA 93647), and FHCN’s Hanford Health Center (250 West 5th St, Hanford, CA, 93230).
